Park Bom Scandal and Comeback IMO

Park Bom, main vocalist of the now disbanded 2ne1, is suspected to be making a comeback soon. She has been on hiatus for a few years now, with the only real break being the goodbye song 2ne1 released shortly after the announcement of their disbandment. For those who don't know, she was investigated for smuggling drugs and all charges were cleared. Basically, it was a drug for ADHD (among other things) that is illegal in South Korea, but perfectly fine in the US. It was prescribed to her by an American doctor after she found that her treatments in America were more effective than those in Korea. Due to her busy schedule, she was unable to go and get a refill on her prescription, so her doctor mailed it to her. The drugs(medication) were intercepted at the airport.

With her comeback being a reality, many Korean netizens are upset and are expressing their belief that she should never make a comeback.

My opinions:

1. It's been years. Get over it.

2. While I do believe she should have known better, I don't think it's so bad that she should never be able to do music again. The reality is that she is a musician. It's not just about her doing what she loves, but also the fact that that is her career and she needs to make a living. (When I say she should have known better, I'm talking about she should have known that the drug was illegal in South Korea.)

3. She was cleared of all charges because she was able to prove that they were actually prescribed for her by a legitimate doctor for a legitimate health issue. There is really no reason to be hating so hard on her.

4. It isn't any of our business. It's not like it was something that she was using for recreation or selling. It was for her own personal use. Also, it is not a drug that was causing her grievous harm. Her swallowing those tablets do not cause the society to erode or people (besides the user) to be harmed. It doesn't cause lung cancer. This is one of those times when I feel like Koreans should mind their own business.
